The first generation of the Chevrolet Aveo with the in-house T200 mark was unveiled to the public in the spring of 2002, after which it quickly became a truly global car - it was launched in 11 countries under nine different names. The life cycle of the original "Aveo" ended in 2006, when the model underwent a deep modernization, having received the "T250" index according to its results.

The “first” Chevrolet Aveo is a budget car of the “B” segment according to the European classification, which was available in sedan and three- or five-door hatchback solutions.

It is 3880-4235 mm long, 1670 mm wide, and 1495 mm high.

The "Korean American" has a 2480 mm gap between the front and rear wheels, and 160 mm ground clearance is visible under the belly.

Specifications. The power palette of the first generation Chevrolet Aveo included four atmospheric gasoline "fours" with distributed injection. Among them:

  • 1.2-liter variant with 72 horsepower and 104 Nm of torque,
  • 1.4-liter engine producing 83-94 "mares"
  • and 123-130 Nm of thrust, and a 1.6-liter 106-horsepower unit generating 145 Nm.

For the transmission of thrust to the wheels of the front axle, there were two gearboxes to choose from - a 5-speed "mechanics" or a 4-speed "automatic".

At the heart of the Chevrolet Aveo T200 lies a front-wheel drive platform with a transversely based power plant.
An independent suspension with MacPherson struts is mounted on the front axle of the car, while an independent structure with a torsion beam is installed at the rear.
The rack and pinion steering mechanism is supplemented with a hydraulic control amplifier.
As standard, the wheels of the car are "registered" disc brakes at the front and drum devices at the rear, combined with the ABS system.

In the secondary market of the Russian Federation in 2018, you can purchase a model of the first generation at a price of ~ 240 ± 40 thousand rubles (depending on the condition and equipment of a particular instance).

The “200th” Aveo is distinguished by its good looks, ergonomic interior, reliable design, easy and affordable maintenance, unpretentiousness, acceptable dynamics, easy control and good equipment.

Among the shortcomings of the car are: poor sound insulation, high gas mileage, high windage, stiff suspension, cramped second row of seats and "oak" plastics in the interior decoration.
