The International Motor Show in Geneva, which was opened to visitors in March 2011, became the venue for the official presentation of the Opel Antara crossover in an updated look. Compared to its predecessor, the car received a slight "make-up" of the exterior and a minimum of changes in the interior, but the main innovations happened in the technical stuffing - it was separated by a completely revised line of power plants, modified suspension and steering, as well as improved sound insulation.
Externally, the restyled Opel Antara is practically indistinguishable from its pre-reform "brother" - it can be recognized only by slightly different front and rear lighting equipment, fog lights and a radiator grille. This means that the car has an attractive and stylish appearance, fully consistent with modern crossover trends.
The total length of "Antara" reaches 4596 mm, of which 2707 mm are allocated to the wheel base, width - 1850 mm, height - 1761 mm. The SUV rises above the roadbed at a height of 200 mm.
And its "travel" weight is from 1750 to 1936 kg (depending on the version).
Inside, identifying the updated version of the Opel Antara is even more difficult than outside - of the innovations, there is only an electric parking brake. Otherwise, the interior is similar to that of a dorestyling car - a pleasant and thoughtful design, no errors in ergonomics, high-quality finishing materials and a solid level of assembly.
The interior of the crossover is designed for five people - in the front seats there are “dense” chairs with a comfortable profile and hard filling, while a “friendly” sofa with the correct layout and an excess of space for three passengers is based in the back.
With practicality, "Antara" is tight - the volume of the luggage compartment is only 370 liters, although it can be increased to 1420 liters, equal to the floor of the rear seat backs. In addition to this, in the “cellar” of the car there is only a “spare wheel” (not a full-size one).
The updated Opel Antara is equipped with a choice of four engine options (two of them gasoline and two diesel), two types of gearboxes and an automatically activated all-wheel drive with a multi-plate clutch that distributes torque in a ratio from 100: 0 to 50:50.
- Under the hood of the simplest crossover is a 2.4-liter atmospheric gasoline "four" with a 16-valve timing and distributed fuel delivery technology, producing 167 "horses" at 5600 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 4600 rpm. Both "mechanics" and "automatic" (both gearboxes for six gears) work with it. From standstill to 100 km / h "Antara" accelerates in 10.3-11 seconds, peak reaches 175-185 km / h and on average is content with 9.1-9.3 liters of fuel in mixed mode.
- The "top" option is a V6 gasoline engine with distributed injection, which, with a volume of 3.0 liters, releases 249 horsepower at 6900 rpm and 287 Nm of ultimate thrust and is combined with a 6-band automatic transmission. Such a car spends on spurt up to the first "hundred" 8.6 seconds, accelerates to 198 km / h and "eats" an average of 10.9 liters of fuel in the combined cycle.
- There is only one diesel unit, but it is available in two levels of boost - 163 "mares" at 3800 rpm and 350 Nm at 1750-2750 rpm, or 184 forces at 3800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm ... This is a 2.2-liter engine with a turbocharger and direct injection of Common Rail, which in the "younger" version is combined only with "mechanics", and in the "older" - only with "automatic". On the move, this Opel Antara is not bad: a "shot" up to 100 km / h in 9.9-10.1 seconds, a "maximum speed" of 188-191 km / h and a fuel "appetite" at the level of 6.6-7.8 liters in mixed conditions.
In the technical part, the updated Opel Antara solution copies the pre-styling version: Theta bogie, MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link in the rear, rack and pinion steering with integrated hydraulic booster and circular disc brakes (with ventilation on the front axle) with ABS, EBD and other electronic systems.
In Russia, "Antara" is not officially sold - its production was completed in March 2015 (in addition, in the same year, the Opel brand left the domestic market "due to the difficult economic situation").
In 2018, in the secondary market of the Russian Federation, this car can be purchased at a price of 600 thousand to 1 million rubles (depending on the equipment and condition of a particular instance)
