At the international Paris Bridal Show in October 2008 at the stands of the French company Peugeot, the Prologue Concept debuted, which became the prototype of the compact MPV off-road vehicle called 3008. The serial crossover, which is a symbiosis of a one-volume vehicle and an all-terrain vehicle, celebrated its official premiere in March 2009 at the Motor Show in Geneva, after which he began to conquer world markets. In this form, the five-door was produced until the end of 2013 - it was then that it entered the conveyor in an updated look.

The design of the Peugeot 3008 cannot be called a masterpiece of modern art, and there is no overwhelming aggressiveness or girly sweetness in it, but in the city traffic the car definitely attracts attention.

The look of the crossover is recognizable and memorable, but very ambiguous - a peaceful "face" with large front optics and a barred "mouth" of the radiator grille, a rounded silhouette with almost vertical sidewalls and embossed "influxes" of wheel arches and a stylish stern with unusual lights and a massive bumper.

The overall length of the "3008" is 4365 mm, and its width and height are 1837 mm and 1639 mm, respectively. There is a gap of 2613 mm between the axles of the SUV, and there is a 170 mm gap under the "belly".

The interior of the Peugeot 3008 is beautiful and sporty in appearance, and is made exclusively of expensive finishing materials. The curved line of the front panel flows into a sloping center console dividing the decoration into two cockpits, on which a number of "aircraft" toggle switches and "remote controls" of the radio and "climate" are ergonomically "registered", and the screen of the multimedia complex is placed under the windshield itself. The embossed "donut" of the multifunction steering wheel and the visual "toolkit" are fully consistent with the given tone.

The front seats of the "3008" with widely spaced side bolsters, a dense cushion and a decent range of adjustments demonstrate a comfortable profile and fix well in turns. The rear sofa of the crossover provides enough free space for three riders, and even very well molded.

The luggage compartment of the Peugeot 3008 is 432 liters in standard form, and a full-fledged spare wheel on a cast disc is hidden in its underground. The back of the "gallery" is transformed in two unequal parts, which increases the cargo capacity up to 1604 liters.

Specifications. In the Russian market for the "Frenchman" there are three engines (a pair of gasoline and one diesel) and an exclusively front-wheel drive transmission.

  • The basic version is a four-cylinder 1.6-liter DV6C diesel engine of the DV6C family with a common rail fuel system and a Garrett variable geometry turbocharger, made of "winged metal", producing 112 horsepower at 3600 rpm and 270 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm. A 6-band “robot” “performs” in a duet with him, thanks to which the car exchanges the first “hundred” in 12.6 seconds, gains maximum 183 km / h and “eats” no more than 4.5 liters of diesel fuel in mixed mode.
  • Petrol versions of the Peugeot 3008 are equipped with a 1.6-liter "four", which is available in two levels of boost. In atmospheric form, the engine is equipped with distributed fuel injection and produces 120 "mares" at 6000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm, and in a turbocharged (direct power supply is already installed here) - 156 forces at 6000 rpm and 240 Nm at 1400 rpm.
    • The "junior" unit is connected to a 5-speed "mechanics"
    • and "senior" with 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic gearbox.

    Depending on the modification, it takes 8.9-11.8 seconds to set the first "hundred" of the car, its ceiling of capabilities falls on 185-202 km / h, and the "appetite" does not exceed 7.1-7.7 liters in the combined cycle.

At the heart of the Peugeot 3008 is the front-wheel drive platform of the "308" hatchback with a transversely oriented engine and a supporting body structure. At the front of the car, an independent suspension with MacPherson struts is used, and the rear wheels are suspended by a semi-independent structure with a torsion beam. The steering system is on a rack and pinion SUV with a hydraulic booster, and disc brakes on all wheels, supplemented by ventilation in the front, with ABS, EBD and other modern "assistants".

Options and prices. In the secondary market of Russia in 2016, the pre-reform version of the Peugeot 3008 can be purchased at a price of 400 thousand rubles and more.
As for the functionality, even in the "base" the SUV "flaunts" six airbags, power steering, air conditioning, ABS, ESP, assistance system when starting to climb, a standard audio system, front power windows, steel wheel rims and heated side mirrors with electric settings ...
The privileges of the "top" performance are two-zone "climate", rear parking sensors, cruise control, bi-xenon front optics, rain and light sensors, leather interior, heated front seats, 17-inch light-alloy "rollers" and a lot of other equipment.
