Opel Insignia Country Tourer is a wagon with increased cross-country ability ("acting" in the "business" class by European standards) with all drive wheels, which is adapted both for city trips and for country trips ...

The car is positioned as the "ideal choice" for those people who prefer an active way of spending time and value self-expression ...

The second generation cross-station wagon was officially revealed to the world community at the beginning of April 2017 during an online presentation - compared to the previous model, it changed in the same vein as the standard "brothers" in the family, but at the same time received an all-wheel drive transmission by default.

It is almost impossible to confuse the Country Tourer SUV with the Insignia Sports Tourer 4 × 4 - it is impossible to do this: protective linings made of unpainted plastic on the lower edge of the body, increased clearance under the "belly", silver inserts in the bumpers and wheel rims of the original design.

Such "all-terrain surroundings" did not spoil the car's appearance at all, on the contrary - it extolled it even more solidity.

In length, the cross-version of the second generation Insignia stretches for 4986 mm, fits in 1500 mm in height, and is 1863 mm in width. The wheelbase of the car is 2829 mm, and the ground clearance is 20 mm higher than that of the standard model (although the exact figure has not been reported).

In the cabin, the “second” Opel Insignia Country Tourer does not have any differences from the “ordinary shed”: noble design, almost “premium” finishing materials, impeccable ergonomics, a five-seat layout and a huge trunk with a volume of 560 to 1665 liters.

The all-terrain station wagon received a choice of two four-cylinder engines:

  • The first is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct fuel injection technology, 16 valves and variable valve timing, developing 260 "horses" and 400 Nm of generated torque.
  • The second is a 2.0-liter CDTI diesel with a 16-valve timing, a turbocharger and a Common Rail system, producing 170 or 2010 "stallions" and 400 or 480 Nm of peak potential (respectively, depending on the degree of "boost").

All power units work in tandem only with the "automatic" (6-band for the "junior" diesel engine or 8-band for the "senior" engines) and all-wheel drive transmission (with individual couplings for activating the rear axle wheels, which allow you to vary the thrust vector depending on driving conditions).

Structurally, the 2nd generation Opel Insignia Country Tourer almost completely echoes its "brothers" in the family - it is based on the "E2XX" platform with McPherson-type architecture in front and a multi-link system at the rear, electric power steering with progressive characteristics and disc brakes "in a circle", supplemented by a whole "bouquet" of actual electronic "chips".

In addition, an adaptive FlexRide chassis with a ride mode selection function is available for the "cross" station wagon.

In Russia, the "all-road" Opel Insignia is not officially sold, but in the countries of the Old World (to be more precise, in Germany) it is provided in two versions - "Country Tourer" and "Country Tourer Exclusive". For the first version in 2018, you will have to pay at least 34,885 euros (~ 2.48 million rubles), and for the second - 37,885 euros (~ 2.7 million rubles).

The starting configuration of the station wagon includes: front and side airbags, dual-zone climate control, "music" with seven speakers, a multimedia center with a 7-inch display, four power windows, ABS, ESP, front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats and others options.
