In spring 2013, at a special dealer conference in Moscow, Uz-Daewoo presented a “new” sedan. We are talking about the five-seater three-car "Gentra", capable of imposing serious competition on Avtovaz's Lada Granta and Lada Priora, as well as on the majority of "golf-class Chinese".

Of course, "Gentra" is somewhat more expensive than the specified cars, but it is noticeably more roomy and spacious, besides, the manufacturer assures that the build quality is also of a higher level.

The fact that this sedan of the C-segment is built on the basis of the pre-styling version popular in Russia, the Chevrolet Lacetti, has been known for a long time, but after the "personal acquaintance" it becomes obvious. The use of Chevrolet Lacetti as a basis, according to the developers, plays a positive role in popularizing UZ-Daewoo Gentra and provides an additional competitive advantage in the Russian market.

The car completely inherited the platform of its progenitor, but received a slightly modified external design, which significantly simplified the exterior. Most of the transformations fell on the front part of the body of the Daewoo Gentra. Here, the manufacturer decided to use a completely new hood, updated the optics, replaced the radiator grill and tweaked the contours of the bumper, at the same time replacing the fog lights. In turn, the rear part of the novelty is almost one to one (with the exception of almost imperceptible small strokes) repeats the stern of the pre-styling Lacetti.

It will be very difficult to assess the appearance of the "new" sedan Daewoo Gentra for a solid five. Still, the body contours and exterior decor elements are largely outdated, however, for a budget car, this novelty looks quite tolerable and attractive, not inferior to competitors in almost anything.

Dimensions "Gentra": body length 4515 mm, width - 1725 mm, and height - 1445 mm. The wheelbase is 2600 mm and the track width is 1480 (for both axles). The ground clearance (clearance) is about 140 mm in an unloaded state (which is frankly not enough for a "workhorse")

The volume of the luggage compartment is 405 liters, but it can be increased to 1225 liters (sacrificing seats for second row passengers.

The curb weight of the sedan is 1245 kg, and the gross weight is 1660 kg.

The interior of this car looks simple, but it is made quite high quality, without visible problems with fasteners and without obvious gaps between the trim parts. The main materials used for the upholstery are high-quality plastic and fabric.

The Daewoo Gentra has a five-seater salon, quite spacious and quite comfortable, in no way inferior to the main competitors of the budget segment.

Specifications... For the "Uzbek-Korean" tricycle it is supposed to use only one engine - under the hood of the Daewoo Gentra, the manufacturer has placed a four-cylinder petrol power unit with a working volume of 1.5 liters. The engine is equipped with a DOHC timing belt, fully complies with the Euro-5 environmental standard and is capable of developing up to 107 hp. maximum power at 5800 rpm (maximum torque will be 141 N • m at 3800 rpm).

The power plant can be aggregated either with a five-speed manual transmission, or with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Despite the use of modern approaches to the development and production of a motor, it is very difficult to call it economical, especially given the not very high power. According to the manufacturer, modifications equipped with manual transmissions will consume about 8.5 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers in "city mode". The gluttony of modifications with "automatic" will require an additional liter of gasoline - the average consumption will be equal to 9.46 liters. But on the track, as the manufacturer assures, the "automatic" will be more economical than the "mechanics" - 6, 52 versus 6.97 liters per 100 km, respectively.

However, the volume of a fuel tank of 60 liters, in any case, will not force you to visit "gas stations" too often.

In terms of dynamic performance, the Gentra won't surprise (but won't disappoint). The maximum speed with the "mechanics" will be 180 km / h, and the first hundred on the speedometer such a sedan can reach in ~ 12 seconds. With the "automatic", according to the manufacturer, the dynamics "up to a hundred" is the same, and the maximum speed will be 164 km / h.

Options and prices... The Daewoo Gentra sedan is offered on the Russian market in five fixed configurations: Comfort, Comfort Plus, Optimum, Optimum Plus and Elegant.
The basic equipment of Daewoo Gentra includes: fog lights, driver's front airbag, immobilizer, power windows for all four doors, power accessories for side mirrors (heating, adjustment) and much more (except perhaps for air conditioning, ABS and an audio system (but there is audio preparation for 6 speakers)).
In the maximum configuration, the car will be able to "boast" the presence of: ABS, 15 "alloy wheels, rear seat armrest, wood trim, steering column adjustment for reach (and not only in height - as in the" base "), heated front seats and air conditioning, sunroof and CD sound system.
The price of the Gentra 2015, in the basic configuration "Comfort", starts at 419,000 rubles (here "mechanics" without options). The most affordable "Gentra with a machine" in the "Comfort Plus" package is offered at a price of 499,000 rubles.
